We’ve been focused on how the release of Part 107 by the FAA impacts the regulatory landscape in the United States, but it’s important to note that legal issues are not the only or even the biggest concern for operators across the world. Erik Eklund: Providing a turnkey UAV solution for professionals is the focus of our offering. We are doing this to help these individuals and organizations carrying out their inspections as efficiently as possible. Our aim is to save them the significant amounts of time and effort wasted from using equipment made up of several separate elements that are not well integrated.

 

Are there specific markets you’re targeting for these new products?

The new products are targeting the core markets where Sky Eye Innovations have their strongest presence and take-up. That is industrial inspections, blue-light operations and film and media organizations.

 

How have you seen organizations struggle with the storage and management of data they collect via a UAV?

The data collected by UAVs is a significant headache for all professional users since they generate data in large volumes and with specific characteristics (e.g. geolocated images). The challenge is not just processing and manipulation of this type of data, but also the management and housekeeping of the datasets and projects they represent. We are providing a consistent structure and integrated approach to these tasks that is unique in the marketplace.

 

What are some of the real world differences you’ve seen drones make? Are they tied to things like ROI or the time that can be saved on a project?

Sky Eye Innovations are clearly seeing significant benefits for their growing cadre of customers. Certain types of inspections and data capture can now be carried with an ease and at a cost level that previously were much more challenging, sometimes prohibitively so.
